The Cougar Chronicle 
Frontier High Middle School is off to an amazing start. The students love the PBIS programs in place. The commons has been transformed into the Student Union on Thursdays for students in the Cougar Club. Fun Fridays have been a huge hit. Student Government will meet on Wednesdays during intervention time. Sophomore Cougar Kason Hoff was elected President and he leads a 7 member Government. Our Student Council was formed and has 3 members representing the group.
PBIS has been super successful and the students love the games in the Student Union, dancing and playing ball in the gym. Pep Rally's have also been a blast. The faculty teamed up to play against our tough varsity Volleyball team. FHMS staff and students have given positive feedback on all of the changes happening at Frontier. Cougars have reported they they like Clubs and really enjoy socializing with their friends and favorite teachers and staff.
Our new Principal, Mr. Wilson reports how impressed he has been with Frontier students the most. "I have been welcomed by the kids and the community with open arms. I really feel like I am home." says Mr. Wilson. Principal Wilson feels every student can try to achieve Straight A's:
- Attendance
- Attitude
- Academics
- Achievement
- Activities
"It starts by attending school everyday and doing your best." Mr. Wilson spoke from the heart. Wilson reports that his top 2 priorities are safety and mental health. "Students can come to me for anything. My door is always open."
Athletics has got off to a fast start this summer. Our new AD Mrs. Alyssa McPeek is a former scholar-athlete with a passion for Frontier sports. She also is a math teacher. Our sporting events have been great events this year. Nurse Shook has partnered with our AD to meet the students safety needs.
Frontier's Dean of Students, Mr. Williams, has been solid in his new administrative role at FHMS. He bring a wealth of experience as an administrator. He also serves as head of the Special Education Program at Frontier. He has partnered with Principal Wilson implementing our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support(PBIS) to our Cougars.
Nurse Shook has assembled the Mental Health Dream Team at FHMS. Mr. Wilson, Counselor Cunningham, and the Hopewell Team is available to any student experiencing crisis. Please reach out to any member with questions or concerns.
