Building Bridges to Careers (BB2C) has reorganized its Student Ambassador program and is looking for students interested in the 2019-2020 school year.
Responsibilities:

Create connections with students in all grades

Communicate with teachers as needed

Knowledge of all BB2C programs and Makerspace activities and classes

Promote BB2C events

Increase engagement of students in BB2C programs

Student liaison between BB2C and students

Recovery is Beautiful High School Summer Camps & School Year Program
Attention current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors interested in a future in mental health care: Washington County Behavioral Health Board and Building Bridges to Careers are looking for 2 students from each area school to participate in a Recovery is Beautiful High School Summer Camps & School Year Program
Purpose:
*Develop mental health career pathways for high school students
*Promote career pathways in the behavioral health areas and increase awareness of the diverse roles
*Create direct connections between students and local behavioral health employers
*Create high school clubs that promote healthy behaviors and develop education and prevention opportunities for students
*Address the stigma associated with behavioral health and addiction disorders
Two students and one staff member from each school district will attend the Ohio Teen Institute Conference from June 10th - 14th @ Heidelberg University, where they will become equipped with knowledge and skills to become positive leaders in their schools and develop programs to address mental health issues and substance misuse in their schools. The group will then organize a 3-day camp in Marietta at BB2C Epicenter, designed to expose students to local issues related to mental health and substance misuse; local providers currently addressing these concerns; and career pathways available in our community. Each school will present a project on the final day that they plan to implement in their schools in 2019-2020.

Buckeye Boys State
Sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary of Ohio. The Marietta Post will send one male student in the summer between his junior and senior year. This week-long event is held at Miami University.
Buckeye Girls State
Sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary of Ohio. The Marietta Post will send one female student in the summer between her junior and senior year. This week-long event is held at the University of Mount Union.
Buckeye Student Leadership Academy
Ohio State is pleased to announce the third annual Buckeye Student Leadership Academy. The BSLA is a summer program for rising high school seniors who are high-achieving, first-generation, rural or underrepresented minority students.BSLA will take place June 22-25, 2020, and is free to participants. Participants are responsible for their travel to and from the program. Participants live on campus for three days with other top high school students. They learn broadly about college life and resources through:
- Attending personal development workshops
- Meeting with faculty and staff
- Working on group projects
- Interacting with Ohio State students
- Participating in sample classes
- Taking part in leadership, cultural and social activities
In addition, they learn how to navigate the college admissions process, finance their education and be a student leader. Apply by February 1.

The Ohio Association of Student Councils (OASC) is a statewide organization designed to help improve and promote the student council program in Ohio's secondary schools.
National Honor Society
Official website of the National Honor Society (NHS). Eligibility for the Frontier Chapter is based on a minimum 3.3 GPA and successful completion (minimum 18 points) of testing required for graduation.
Youth Advisory Council
Middle and high school students are also invited to join the Marietta Community Foundation's Youth Advisory Council. This group meets every other Wednesday evening (Aug. 29 through May 29) from 6:30 - 7:30 pm at the Marietta Community Foundation Office.
